Lips tend to be one of the most sensitive areas of face to wind, cold weather and even sun. It could make lips appear lifeless and even blood may ooze out of cracks. Hence it is quite important to keep lips soft and well hydrated to add life to face all round the year. Just adding a coat of lipstick on to dried lips could prevent it from giving the best gloss and shine even with the best brands.

Certain home tricks could work great on lips to make it appear soft. Just exfoliate the lips with a soft toothbrush every morning. Make sure not to overdo the scrubbing and remeber to hold the brush under tap water for few minutes. Try the following home remedies too after exfoliation:
-Honey: Apply honey on to lips. It is natural and could make lips smooth similar to other range of lip products.

-Olive oil: Apply olive oil before bath. Let it absorb for few minutes. Wah and let lips dry.

-Clove oil: Take some clove oil to a cotton bud and smear it over the lips. Remove it with a dry cloth after some time for a pink smooth lips. It is a natural antiseptic providing soothing relief to even worst chapped lips.

Store bought simple products could also work for great smooth lips. But do you know the chief ingredient in all range of lip products? It is oil that helps make lips more softer.

Lip balm: Lip balms are available in plenty of soothing shades and flavors. Even exfoliating lip balms are widely available to prevent dead cells built up. It would exfoliate and moisturize the lips all at the same time. But lip balms with sun protection factor of SPF 15 and more are widely available. A good brand of lip balm could offer smooth lips, exfoliation of lips coupled with sun protection.

Vaseline: Vaseline lip jelly with petroleum products is another popular product for soft lips. It works for chapped lips too. Wash the worst chapped lips with warm water and apply a coat of vaseline at night. At daytime just apply a coat of vaseline as base and apply your favourite brand of lip stick or lip gloss.

Bees wax: Bees wax works best on chapped and cracked lips. It helps even in cold and dry weather as it helps lock the natural moisture of lips. It is a natural ingredient in variety of cosmetics including Burt's beewax, a commercial lip balm with bees wax.

Just exfoliate the lips and moisturize regularly. It is the best kept secret for soft envying lips!
