Married Life

Making sure "I do" does not turn into I regret

I have never been married but my parents have been married for over thirty years. I am not sure that marriage is for me. I believe that marriage can be very challenging and rewarding.I believe it can be hard physically and mentally on a person that may not be ready to commit to someone for the rest of their lives.I know that you have to be a very giving person from the time that you are married or even engaged. I also believe that marriage is forever and should be taken seriously. I think a man should be financially secure before considering marriage. The man should have a decent house, transportation and a vision for the future. I think the only way a marriage can work is determination by both parties involved. I also believe that the couple should have a strong belief in God. I think religion plays a big part in marriage.I would want to know that significant other has similar views on life.I would want to know she would always be there for me. I would want to marry a woman that had experienced dating more than one man in her lifetime. I want a woman who is secure with herself. When the time comes for me to get married I won't have any misconceptions about marriage which is probably why I'm still single. I have dated my fair share of women. Some of them were very nice looking and some were less attractive. I've sowed my wild oats so to to speak. In this day of HIV you have to be careful. I think that is every responsible adult's responsibility. The pleasure is not worth the risk of unsafe sex. People don't seem to be getting married like they did in the old days. Women are just like men when it comes to having casual sex nowadays. That is my opinion on the subject. I think lot of women know what they want in a man and marriage.I think they know how many kids may or may not want.I don't know if the same can be said about men.Marriage shouldn't be taken lightly and all these things should be discussed before getting married. I believe there is someone for everybody in this world. They are not easy to find but they are out there. I know that I have dated good women that were not the best for me.I don't regret dating them because it was a learning experience. There isn't a way to make sure you don't regret getting married. You should enjoy the whole dating experience before getting married. I know that i did before getting involved with my current girlfriend. Everyone has their own opinion about happiness and marriage is a part of that.I think marriage is a twenty- four hour and seven days a week job. I think my views on marriage can be very negative.I also think marriage can be fascinating and exciting. I think that people that regret marriage probably got married too soon.
