Free
I'm finally free,
I've let go.
Deep inside,
I already know.
It's the greatest feeling,
I'm lighter than air.
I've finally realized,
Life can be fair.
I'm so happy,
I can't explain.
How I feel,
No more pain.
I never thought,
I'd get over losing you.
But it took a year,
For me to pull through.
I look back,
On all of those lonely nights.
I spent them crying,
And I died a little more each time.
I couldn't control what happened,
And it was for the best.
I've seen the light,
And I have past the test.
Your face has faded,
From my tormented dreams.
I look around,
And you're nowhere to be seen.
My heart has healed,
Free from your memory.
It can never be hurt,
By your misery.
You can't haunt me,
Anymore.
My soul is no longer,
Sore.
I'm free,
To move on.
But I wonder,
Why it took me so long.
The sky seems bluer,
Than before.
I don't know,
What's in store.
The sun shines down,
It warms my skin.
I look around me,
With a grin.
The moon glistens,
In the clear sky.
The stars fall,
Like tears I used to cry.
I can be,
Who I want to be.
I can do anything,
I'm free.
I can live my life,
I don't have to think about where you are.
And how you left,
A painful scar.
But now that's gone,
Faded with the rest.
A ton of anguish,
Has been lifted from my chest.
I've erased,
All you did.
I have to remember you're a boy,
A little kid.
You'll never grow up,
You'll always be like this.
Every chance you take,
Will be a miss.
Peace has kissed me,
And has fell upon my inner self.
I can put all of my fears,
On the shelf.
I have wings,
And I can fly.
I've been to the edge,
And I almost died.
Through your weakness,
I've gained strength.
I've learned,
From your mistakes.
If you noticed me,
You'd realize.
I''ve finally moved on,
It's now your turn to cry.
The cloud that once,
Followed me around.
Has been blown away,
To higher ground.
No longer,
Will it rain on me.
No longer,
Will I drown in your sea.
Why did you,
Come see me that day?
What was the point,
If you weren't going to stay?
I often wish you'd come back,
Just to talk.
But if you show up,
Just turn around and walk.
Don't bother calling,
You know it's not the same.
You're not willing,
To take the blame.
I will always,
Pray for an apology.
I need that from you,
But you'll never give it to me.
Don't talk,
Only whisper as I pass by.
That you're sorry,
And so am I.
Please don't look,
Keep your glances to yourself.
I only hope one day,
You'll feel the way I once felt.
The feeling,
That hangs over me.
Is relief,
I'm finally free...
