Rising food prices - A global concern

Do you want to know the biggest reason why food prices are rising all over the world? It is simple. Human over-population and other activities of us Two-Leggeds - us humans - are causing weather changes all over the globe. The current familiar term for this is "global warming", but that is a smokescreen for the much less popular, "human over-population".

Droughts, floods, and whirlwinds are a fact of nature. We humans have had to live with them and their effects since before any people recorded their history and the events of it. But until recently, the number of humans on our Holy Mother, the Earth, was not so great that the side-effects of human activity changed the balances between the various forces that work in the biosphere. Currently, our Holy Mother is supporting just over TWICE the number of humans who can live on her bounty without causing uproar - chaos - to the balance of nature.

The balance of nature has always been a dynamic thing - always changing. That is the nature of life and energy in general. But - in any physical system anywhere in the universe, there are always "tipping points", where some part of the system gets so far out off-balance relative to the averages that the other forces in that system cannot accomodate the imbalance and the system spirals into some new way which is often not friendly to existing life forms - and "points of no return", which are exactly what the term says. They are not synonymous terms.

For over 30 years, since I was about 13 years old, I have been telling anyone and everyone that there are too many humans for our Holy Mother to support, and that other species - in every Nation (plants and animals) are going to become extinct if humans didn't begin to take responsibility for their numbers; and ultimately, we will follow. I haven't been the only such voice, of course. More's the pity - all of us have been largely ignored by the majority of humans. Our perspective wasn't warm and fuzzy, cuddly, or cute. Aw gee, shucky darn! Ignoring a problem has never made it go away; it has always and only made it worse - and HERE WE ARE, takoszja.

To paraphrase what Pogo said, "We has met the enemy, and s/he is us." All those people thinking that somehow they are so special as to warrant extreme measures so they can birth a baby of their own bodies - while ignoring the greater needs of all the children already on the earth who already NEED parents, for example. Or how about all those people
