ResearchSEA – Asia Research News has partnered with Helium to bring you the ResearchSEA – Asia Research News Citizen Journalism Awards.

ResearchSEA – Asia Research News is a center for journalists and citizens to gain access to news and local experts from the research world in Asia. It covers issues from all areas of research in science, technology, medicine, business, culture and people. Lend your voice today and win!

You can compete by writing unique, compelling articles on issues presented by ResearchSEA – Asia Research News. The winning writer will receive a ResearchSEA – Asia Research News Citizen Journalism Award and a cash prize of $125. The winning article will be featured on ResearchSEA’s website and in email newsletters and read by thousands of editors, journalists and public members around the world.

About the contest

The assignment: ResearchSEA will feature one new title each month. Follow the article guidelines, research the featured topic and write a compelling article for your chance to win.

The winning article will be promoted to editors and journalists around the world, who may be interested in publishing the article or engaging in further collaboration. All articles should be newsworthy and all references must be attributed. Where possible, the articles should highlight research conducted in or about Asia.

The awards: ResearchSEA will pick one winning article each month. The winning writer will receive a ResearchSEA – Asia Research News Citizen Journalism Award, recognition on ResearchSEA’s website, promotion of the article to editors and journalists around the world and a cash prize of $125.

How to get started

  1. View the current contest title below.
  2. Research: Visit the ResearchSEA – Asia Research News’ partner page at Helium to learn more about its mission. ResearchSEA is interested in highlighting research done in Asia for the benefit of the international community and media. It welcomes newsworthy contributions highlighting research conducted in or about Asia. You may use material available from ResearchSEA’s website or other reputable sources. Please attribute all sources used.
  3. Write: Write a unique article in 1,000 words or less. Essays should be newsworthy, written in nonspecialist language and contain minimal research jargon. Be sure to follow ResearchSEA – Asia Research News’ article guidelines.
