Humor: Writing while inebriated

are again separated. She goes on to a school for girls funded by someone who has never seen or heard of her native country, but is siphoning money into a friendly allied nation in order to gather support for oil sales. The brother is sold into indentured servitude and is told to start constructing a bridge. Because the bridge actually spans a continent, there is much press coverage. The brother proves himself adept at managing incoming materials for the building of the bridge and is named foreman of the project. The sister sees him on the subsequent TV coverage, and asks her new elderly husband, who discovered her at a restaurant that she worked at after fleeing the refugee camp, to put her in touch with her long lost brother. The elderly husband does as she asks, and the two are joined again, this time with disastrous results..

You see how this can go on and on, ad nausea, all beginning with the flap of a butterfly's wings? Well, that is the lesson to be learned. ALL our actions, no matter how trivial, have weight. This is true for the poorest of the poor and the richest of the rich, and of course, the drunkest of the drunk and the unfortunate sober folk as well. It is the manner in how we use our actions now that will be judged (by whomever WE believe might judge us) in the end.
So, Padraic, what on EARTH does this have to do with blissfully blathering wine? Funny you should ask; Padraic was winding arduously around to that very lesson!

Does being intoxicated alter your true self? Can we now validly add to the human repertoire of excuses the "I'm drunk, and therefore: killed/lied/forgot the kids/forged some checks/shoplifted/did anything I didn't mean to do' excuse?"

Let's consider for a moment, the potted household plant. We will certainly agree that it is in some part made up of water in its photosynthesizing endeavors, right? Right. So, we have a "prayer plant," let's say, known to very few people as: Maranta leuconeura, a rainforest-bred plant that quaintly closes its leaves at night. Mr. or Ms. Human comes along and spritzes it, since a rainforest-like misting is unlikely to happen naturally in the average household. That water seeps slowly down into the dirt that surrounds Maranta's roots, inexorably fingering out, saturating and surrounding everything that is encompassed by that particular pot. That water then is sucked up into the plant to provide essential H2O and aid in the very essence of growth that the plant is unconsciously trying to achieve.
