What is reincarnation?

The Buddhist religion is one of a few, that have faith in the cycle of birth, death and rebirth as part of its beliefs dating back to the 8th century.

The Tibetan Book of Death deals with the state of change between death and the next life when the soul is reborn into life once again known as reincarnation. It is a state of being in a dream like state which is beautiful and yet alarming.

This dream occurs in stages or what are called "Bardos" where other divine beings appear to the deceased person's spirit. In this process of being in the between phase the deceased is confused, afraid and seeks guidance to reach Nirvana. The soul must recognize the difference between the clear light or return to the rotation of the lower world of birth and rebirth once again and this is the point of reincarnation.

Most souls fail to realize the Clear Light or that the person them self is the true reality, the real Buddha and must therefore return to reincarnate into another life of learning. If they do recognize the Light then they can transcend creation and remain in the light for an eternity.

If this is the case the soul proceeds to the Second Bardo where a second deity appears to the soul and a second chance is given to realize the Clear Light. If the soul responds in joy and an untainted heart he will be liberated from the cycle of incarnation and achieve Nirvana in eternity. However if the soul responds with rage from having lived a life of excess or vices while on the earth plane he will be drawn into hell through his own ego.

The Third Bardo brings the soul into contact with The Lord of Death where the soul disputes his evil deeds while being told the views before him are an outcrop of his own mind. The Lord of Death shows the soul all their evil and good acts called the Mirror of Karma and punishment is given for the evil deeds.

If the soul recognizes that the projections are all from his own mind then it can still obtain liberation at this state. If not the soul is drawn back to the cycle of reincarnation and rebirth is a foregone conclusion.

The mystery of reincarnation proceeds to where the soul must be reborn and still the frightening deities and suffering is bestowed at this level. The soul wants to escape this process and seeks to hide in caves which are actually the entrances to wombs.

Finally with no possibility of liberation and acknowledging the clear light, the soul is given directions on how to choose the best womb for a complimentary reincarnation.

This amazing explanation of the process of reincarnation is both fascinating and similar to the Judgment Day outlined in the Bible, where one is brought into a judgment of their life on earth and the good deeds are weighted in contrast to the evil deeds during the soul's lifetime on earth.

This brings out the importance of why the world must protest China's occupation of the Tibetan lands and the ousting of the Dalai Lama from his own homeland.
The current Dalai Lama has been exiled to India and must return to his land to
be reborn, but China wishes to chose the next Dalai Lama by stating the next
Dalai Lama must be born in China.

The next Dalai Lama must be reborn in the country of Tibet and by China's occupation and oppression of the Tibetan culture they will effectively destroy the Buddhist religion and that is the ultimate goal of China.

The last words given to a soul prior to reincarnation is that virtue and goodness must be perfected in every way and the words warning not to be in love with the smoke colored light from hell.
