Numb
The distance is painful
You leave my soul numb
Far away
Keeps my thoughts glum
Your demeanor has changed
You see me in a different light
You made the choice
Between fight or flight
Inside your words
I find no response
You are so far away
Pain once again haunts
Whatever the reasons
Things seem horribly awry
Your heart gone far, far away
I try to uncover why
I search my soul
To find your heart
It is so far away
Why did we part?
Love transcends
Boundaries deep
My heart lingers
How long will it keep?
I long for your return
Your heart to share
I need to understand
Shed this obviously blank stare
Distance is an obstacle
Easily overcome
You're so far away
My mind goes numb
Hearing your sweet voice
I have earnestly missed
Replaying in my mind
The last time we kissed
The pain is still fresh
Wounds are superficially worn
Recovery is tough
From being lovelorn
Faithful to the very end
My heart does not dare stray
Even though
You are so far, far away
