The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Women have shaped the minds of the great men who have occupied the presidency of the United States since its inception. A woman may have led the man, but she has never had the opportunity to lead the nation. While women in foreign nations have been Queens and Prime Ministers, showing themselves to be able and decisive leaders, no woman has yet been the leader of the United States.
Although I have respect for Obama and recognize the significance of an African-American president, I believe the more historic choice would be Hillary Clinton. America stands as a democratic presence among the nations. For too long, though, men have regulated the psychology of the democratic process.
A woman president would bring a change in perspective to the leadership of the nation. Women possess a greater attention to detail than males. They are better communicators, and usually more verbally skilled. They have an inherent negotiating skill, and a stronger survival instinct and rate. Women possess an inherent sense of nurturing and of danger, which has evolved to assist them in protecting themselves and their children. These are facts supported by psychologists and educators.
In America, women have freedoms not available in most cultures. Their education, mental toughness and ability to manage home, family and careers have enabled them to propel the national climate forward, in spite of the fact that the equal rights amendment has never passed. Women in America don't need a law to make them equal, they are equal in all aspects. I have traveled abroad for business and know first hand that an American woman, by her carriage and demeanor, can be easily distinguished, regardless of her manner of dress.
Since the beginning of America's history, women have shared equally in the political tolls of war and recessions. They have supported the country, sent their sons to fight, and worked to keep the economy going when men were not present. They work shoulder to shoulder with the male citizens to restore equal rights and economic health. I believe that a woman president would the more historical choice, and is the next step in freedom in the United States.
