On one hand it depends on what you refer to as the environment. Do you mean the people that control the environment so therefore how we are affected by their situation or do you mean environment as in the grass we walk on and the air that we breath?

If in the first instance you refer to the environment as the latter (so the physical environment) then how can our efforts be good for it? Regardless of what we humans do, the inevitability of global warming is far too great for humans to make much of a difference. If you think about the entire life span of this earth - so millions of years - then the minuscule changes we are attempting to make aren't going to make much difference. Ice ages etc are part and parcel of living on the earth. We have had 6 or 7 ice ages? Maybe more. Which means that no matter what we do it is going to happen. So why stress about which light bulbs you are using when on the whole, it doesn't really matter?

The government not only know this they are enjoying our worry. So lets look at it from the other perspective.

If you look at the environment as something that is continually controlled then you are certainly on the right track. The government, local councils, big business', advertising companies so on and so on control us. They know what we buy, how to market those products in the best way possible so therefore how to make us buy them. Since the idea of global warming was first bought into our line of vision those big people have jumped on it likes flies to shh...well you get the picture. Have you not noticed that now, every big companies you can think of have added - will help you be green - to their products? Because of society's fear of something that the big 'clever people' know is inevitable we are tricked into buying more expensive - and take forever to get bright when you turn them on might I add - light-bulbs. Those things are not at all necessary. Those things just make you spend a few quid extra every now and again. Now that everyone has spent that few extra quid on a few different going green products - those companies have made billions. They all saw pound signs - or dollar signs - and decided that they wanted a piece of the pie. The thing is, their tummies are hugggge from all the slices of pie that they've eaten but they still want more!

Don't get me wrong though - I'm all for stopping big stores using plastic carrier bags that are a danger to animals. I would love to stop beer companies using those plastic can holders. Those things are just cruel because animals get caught in them and could die. But with the global lie taking hold of everybody's conscience these things that matter so much more are falling to the wayside.

As for recycling, it is a great idea - in theory. Until I found out that the English government send our stuff that needs recycling to far off countries, then pay them pittance an hour to sort through it to see what they can use and what our government do actually need to bury. Which then costs even more money. Sounds pretty cruel to me?! Is the world really this corrupt to allow people to be treated in such a manner with no regards to their feelings? The way we are being totally ripped off with such a huge scam is disgusting. It makes me quite sad to be honest. But then again what can you do?

So who is the current green wave actually good for?
