It's been a long time.
I may not be ready yet.
My heart is tightly bound,
My resolve is still set.
I cannot suffer again,
As I did before,
I was hurt by another,
And my heart is still sore.
Can I trust you?
Let the past fade and die?
Unlock my frozen heart,
Allow what I can't deny.
I know that you adore me.
Why do I still hold fast?
I wish I could just let go,
But I cannot escape my past.
Give me a chance to see,
If I can find some trust
I need to take it day by day,
You know I will adjust.
It's been a long time,
And I want to be free,
To show you how I really feel
And what you mean to me.
