Well, tips for financial planning in your twenties, this is really a good topic that is worth most pondering.
To most of the people who are in their twenties, it's really hard to say that they have a stable and well-paid job, financial planning seems more important to people at this age. Some may think come on; it's just far away from us right at this moment, just talk about it later. No, this kind of thought is definitely wrong. Starting a financial planning is just of great importance, the earlier you start your financial planning, and the better your life will be.
Here are some tips that I really would like to share:
1. Banking, I would like to talk about it from two aspects, savings and credit cards.
Speaking of savings, my idea is that you'd better have a Term Deposit and at the same time having a Saving Deposit; the former one is for you to set some money aside for your future while the latter one enables you to be more flexible when you are charged to face some financial related issues.
Credit Cards nowadays are very popular with the young, especially the twenties. It's really a cool thing that you can purchase many things that you want. But do remember credit card means only debt to you, I didn't mean that we should get rid of credit cards totally, I do admit that credit cards are of great importance, but we need to be reasonable towards credit cards. Don't purchase your credit cards at will.
2. Leisure, this includes movies, transportation and so on..
Movies can be very expensive sometimes; a ticket to a movie that is during its main run can be high, just try and wait until the show comes out in the "dollar movies" or on video. Then buy a copy of released DVD of that movie with your friend and you are going to save a lot of money.
One can also save lot when it comes to transportation. When you need to travel by air, you may buy a ticket at the lowest price by purchasing it as earlier as possible. What's more, to make certain you have a cheap fare, even if you use a travel agent, contact all the airlines that fly where you want to go and ask what the lowest fare to your destination is. You can also google out some sites to shop for low air fare.
3. Retirement Planning, not kidding, I'm serious when I wrote down this.
Make sure you understand administrative fees charged if you are in a 401(k) plan. (A 401(k) plan is a retirement saving plan that employers can offer their employees. Often, employers match the employee contribution to some extent, perhaps $0.50 on the dollar.) If your firm's 401(k) provider charges high fees, that can significantly eat into your retirement funds work to have high-fee providers replaced.
I strongly recommend people at their twenties to have a financial plan for themselves and carry it out as soon as possible. And most importantly, stick to it and never give it up half way.
