The 1980's, which was my favorite era in my lifetime was the biggest era for producing fantasy films. There never was and there never will be another era in time that could compare or hold a candle to the film industry like what the 1980's did.

The 1980's filming industry was the time where each movie that was made, would hit the head on the nail for the viewer, be it you or someone you knew at that time. Most of the fantasy films produced in the 1980's, defined the party scenes, the actions of teenagers around the world, and the life of most if not all of whom most likely had experienced in their life.

The fantasy films of the 1980's also added a great extended definition to the music era at that time as well.

Movies such as; Footloose, Flashdance, Back To The Future, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, etc... Just to name a few, were among those in which projected the music themes of its time as well as projected some form of characteristics of its fans in some way or another. There wasn't a teenager in existence during the 1980's who didn't compare their lives to that of a character in a movie.

Most of the movies of all genres that were produced in the 1980's, were also credited for producing and supporting many of the upcoming music groups at the time.

Those movies also began many many trends of teenagers and young adults alike during the 1980's. Hairstyles, clothing, jewelry, makeup, the music we played aloud and the music we played alone to set the definition to what we were experiencing at the time, were just a few of the trends these movies began.

Not to mention, the toy industry and the clothing and apparel industry that became a world wide phenomenon to take a piece of the top selling pie, by making replicas to suit the fan base, which in return helped the trend setters during its time.

None of the movies that are made today and since the era of the 1980's, can not hold a candle to the influence the movie industry had on its fan base during the 1980's. I miss the 1980's like crazy. I have been and will always be an 80's kid. Music, movies, clothes, trends and all!
