Raising Helium to the next level: Helium's Writing Standards

I think a weeding out of such articles very important for the sake of raising the bar of the writing standards at Helium.

"Where knowledge rules"- Our knowledge! That is something to live up to, and something to strongly bear in mind when writing for Helium. The knowledge that we are imparting has to be based in fact, otherwise it makes a complete mockery of the aforementioned statement.

Helium is a site for serious, dedicated writers, it is not a blog or social networking site. It is for writing to a good standard. I think articles of less than 350 words should be addressed, and brought to an acceptable level as per the guidlines. All writers start at the same point. We all have to gain experience to hone our writing for it to improve, and for newcomers there is a wealth of information to be found within the Writing Standards' such as: Tips for writing better articles on Helium' How to use leapfrogs. What is not allowed. Plagiarism. The basic rules of paragraphing, spelling, grammar, not including your name to an article. There are also Mentors available if you think you could benefit from 1 to 1 help. Which I think is a brilliant idea for a newcomer to writing.

Basically an article should consist of a Header' {Your Title} A good opener {Strong 2 or 3 lines to draw your reader in} Body of text. {With Interesting, correct, informative, and relevant content} Then conclude with a strong closing. An article needs to be prepared with thought and research to make sure all of your information is correct. Then it can be brought to life with your own personal writing style.

Helium is a brilliant site for the serious writer. It offers so much and I for one take a great pride in belonging to a site that has given me so much. I feel that my writing is improving daily, and with each new article I write I try to raise my own personal standard and push myself further to produce better work. Helium inspires me to create better articles and the competitive peer rating system does much to encourage this.

I think the raising of the writing standards on Helium will be a slow but steady process. Each writer aims to produce their best work and as time moves on with practice and honing we are all working hard to raise the bar and take Helium to the next level.-
