Getting a computer and choosing an ISP is an exciting time and the last thing on people's minds is technical support. They may never consider it until they need it.
The ISPs with the best support are the ones that offer twenty-four hour support. People live in different time zones and keep different schedules and may need to call for assistance at two in the morning.
It's very reassuring to know you can call your ISP tech support and be greeted with a friendly, knowledgeable technician, especially if Internet is necessary to your business.
The best ISP support teams have technicians who can speak many languages. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to understand what someone is saying to you.
Spelling your name fifteen times can become cumbersome, at best. A for apple, N as in noit becomes a phonics game and a speedy switch of ISPs.
Popular ISPs are popular because they make using the Internet user friendly and can correct problems promptly. They are knowledgeable and familiar with many computer programs and operating systems and have advice at their fingertips.
In my experience, most dial-up ISPs always have a great technical support team. The larger companies don't seem to offer the personal attention as the smaller ones and it can be difficult to mill your way through the different services.
High speed Internet is the preference of most people for obvious reasons. Some companies have certain hours where tech support is available, so it's best to do a little research before paying for an ISP.
My favorite ISP is RoadRunner. It's fast, reliable and I can always reach tech support when I need to. I have tried many ISPs and I like RoadRunner the best.
Depending on your Internet needs you will want to ask questions and find out when tech support is available and whether there is an extra charge for using it. Most ISPs include tech support as part of the package but there's always one or two who charge.
The best ISP support is friendly, always available, included in your Internet package and knowledgeable with up to date information.
Having good support makes any ISP better and enhances the Internet experience.
