Ettington Park Hotel
Set in forty acres of Warwickshire countryside, the neo gothic Ettington Park Hotel was used for location filming in the 1963 Robert Wise horror flick, The Haunting.' Steeped in history, the Ettington Park Hotel has been in the Shirley family since before the Norman Conquest.
Within its grounds, a twelfth century church is on hand to explore, along with gardens, parkland and extensive woodland where wild deer still roam. The river Stowe flows nearby and hotel staff can arrange rods and tackle if a spot of fishing takes your fancy. The staff can also arrange clay pigeon shoots and archery competitions.
Beyond the woods, there are plenty of other attractions to keep you busy. These include: Blenheim palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Warwick Castle and hundreds of traditional Middle English villages.
