There were moments in my life,
Slipping by unrealized.
Sorrow, joy, contentment, strife.
Regretful things that I despised.
I never stilled, I did not hear,
The angel whisper in my ear.
There were times of wonderment.
Children born and grown and gone.
Marriages to sacrament.
Cherished lovers now forlorn.
I should have been listening,
To the angel whispering.
Now, as I look back I find,
The whispers did not pass me by.
I can hear them in my mind.
Just as silent as a sigh,
Melodious, a tiny bell.
The whispering of my angel.
Summers air so warm and clean.
Taking Jo Dee as my bride.
A blanket of snow so serene.
Beauty Autumn could not hide.
Thinking back now, I declare,
I could hear my angel there.
