8. Pulp "Love Is Blind" from the album "Separations" (1992): energetic, distinctive almost military - drum pattern mixed with romantic and urgent vocals, "Love Is Blind" is a typical punk rock ballad reflecting the mature independent music scene of the 90s.

9. Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Under The Bridge" from the album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" (1991): describing the problems drug addiction, "Under The Bridge" is rather a Funk Rock alternative tune, with a great melody and extremely emotional vocals reflecting own experience.

10. REM "Shinny Happy People" from the album "Out of time" (1991): with clear references to the Tiananmen Square slaughter in 1989, REM express their political views through a happy, pop song, performing in front of cartoon covered walls and dancing shinny, happily ever after; uniquely alternative.

11. Smashing Pumpkins "1979" from the album "Mellon Collie and the infinite sadness" (1995): an epic song, using smart drumming, a memorable tune and great back vocals, "1979" signifies the emotional ups and downs of alternative rock scene; pessimistic but still wanting to believe in an alternative future.

12. Verve "Weeping Willow" from the album "Urban Hymns" (1997): wonderful melody, brilliant lyrics and atmospheric drums accords combined with quite prevailing guitar riffs, "Weeping Willow" is a unique piece of alternative rock art.
