Instant coffee for me was never my favorite and choice. In fact I detest it. With instant coffee, it somehow dilutes the taste, the feeling, aroma and the whole atmosphere when one compares drinking brewed coffee.
Instant coffee normally is associated with vending machine. We put in coins. Whole selections of options appeared either you one it plain, cream or sugar. Then a cup appeared with the choice we made and we drink it. This is instant coffee of my understanding.
If it was a soft drink say Coke or Pepsi, then it is different as it taste the same either you bought it at 7-11, Wall Mart or others. But in an instant coffee, the taste varied from one machine to another. This results in mixed review for instant coffee.
Now with brewed coffee is different and it is an entirely new ball game. It doesn't matter if you brewed yourself at home or you go to Starbuck to get your fix. Yes, the taste also varied but in a nice way. As we know people are involved in the coffee making process. Not some machine. The hot air and hot water of a freshly brewed coffee gives you a sense of sensation. In the morning before I start my work, for me a cup of hot brewed coffee make my day. It gives me the boost to start my day.
Though it's a little bit time consuming if might call that, of about 10-15 minutes to make a cup of coffee, the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment of drinking your own brewed coffee. To it up it is on a Sunday, you reading the newspaper and laze around with a cup of coffee besides you. Nothing beats that sensational feeling.
Going outdoor or camping, in my opinion illustrate the essence of brewed coffee in its true form and its most finest. Under the moonlights and the stars at night, with campfires and friends around after dinner with cigarettes at hand what better companion that man can have than a freshly brewed coffee enjoying the nature.
Finally, as I conclude my piece why instant coffee is not an option because think of it as a love hate relationship. Both side of the fence have its fans and critics alike. At the end of the day we are given a choice to choose which one we like. In a modern and weird society that we are living in right now, where everything is at a click of a mouse and button everything is made easy. There is nothing wrong in that. But sometimes we do need a little bit old fashion or old school to get things done. Same as brewed coffee, it brought a sense of nostalgic in lost of a bygone era.
Brewed coffee! Anytime and all the time.
