Have you and your fiance ever considered the possibility of getting married in your own backyard? Just think of the sentimentality that comes with exchanging vows in your backyard. You can have a dream backyard wedding on the cheap. When you choose to have the wedding at your home, you can save significant amounts of your time as well as your money.
The first step to planning for your perfect backyard wedding is "Plan B." Before you even think about having your backyard wedding event, make sure that you've got a backup plan (Plan B) in place, that can go into high gear as needed. Plan B must flow as effortlessly as possibly.
Consider obstacles and potential obstacles for Plan B:
1. God, rain, snow, tidal waves, tornadoes, hurricanes and any/all circumstances beyond your control

3. Parking - will permits for street parking be necessary? Will your neighbors cooperate when it comes to traffic and noise?
4. Insurance - verify your coverage, friends and relatives will sue
5. Pets, Animals - keep all pests, animals and pets controlled
6. Fire - have fire extinguishers on hand, make sure all materials are flame retardant
7. Electrical - before overloading, have a professional electrician handle add ons that might be required for lighting and music
8. Check all possible conditions in your backyard and home that require attention in order to facilitate your guests
Planning is the most important element for your beautiful and cheap backyard wedding. Save your time, money, and sanity by preplanning as much as possible:
1. Plan out your physical space - use marking spray paint or chalk to draw out your plans, with accurate dimensions
2. Make several copies of your wedding scape to have on hand at all times
3. Logistics - the event schedule with time and place alloted for all aspects of the wedding. Needs to include bathroom facilities and supplies adequate for the number of guests.
4. Food Preparation and Serving Areas - make sure that the traffic flow for the food will not cause a traffic jam, must be easy to circulate, napkins, plates, utensils, etc.
5. Beverages - decide on self service or allow for tables with servers, ice, glassware, beverage napkins, lemons, olives, limes, etc. beverage selections and water
6. Rental Equipment - check prices and get quotes from 3 party rental companies for chairs, tables, tablecloths, glasses, cups, saucers, canopies, tents, fountains, arches, plants (real or artificial) dance floors, candleholders, lighting,
