Tips for electronic music production

is a great idea for creating the best electronic music possible.

You need to have a good ear for music and have great knowledge about the music you want to create. It's best to listen to as much music as possible, take notes of what you feel works and what does not within other artists sounds. A great understanding of music is required, and if you can take something different from every artist then the music you will be able to produce will be much more original and ultimately more excellent. After obtaining a music sequencer the next logical step is to find yourself a suitable midi keyboard, soundcard, and sampler also. You need all this equipment to set you on your way and it's definitely worth researching as to what exactly you will be requiring. Depending on how adventurous or simplistic you wish to be then the software you're after will vary. Your budget is also important and you should therefore ask around for peoples advice on what best will suit your needs. Seek out forums for electronic musicians in similar situations to yourself, ask what they use and see what they suggest. When I started out I was very much after creating a drum & bass sound, I therefore asked around on the forum of a website called Drum&Bass Arena which was greatly helpful to myself. So much advice was offered and at this early stage in my electronic music career some of the things people suggested to me were hugely beneficial.

When it comes to creating your music always try and carve out your own niche, attempt things that have not been done before, or expand upon elements of music that you feel could be improved. It's all about individuality here and the more original you are the more likely you are to succeed. You want people to hear your electronic music and be impressed, you therefore need to do something a little different to really grab them and interest them throughout the entire duration of your music. It can be difficult coming up with that perfect track and creating music therefore takes time. My best advice is to keep at a track until you're fully satisfied; don't consider it as finished until you feel that the music is the best it possibly can be and only then should you let others hear it.

If you're wanting to add vocals to your music then you're going to require a decent microphone. There are many microphones out there on the market, it's best to make your way to a store and try out a few though see what one sounds best to you and also what microphone offers the
