My on line friends mean so much to me. I have two very special friends who never fail to keep in touch with me. We met about 7 years ago. What a fortunate time that was for me. I had my mother living with me at the time, she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Mom was in the beginning stages and also had heart problems, namely angina pain. My husband had just been diagnosed with Kidney Disease and I was beginning to get stressed out.

I wanted to lose weight, but had no time for myself and decided to go to the Slim-Fast site and see what it was all about. I have to tell you that was the luckiest day of my life, not because I lost a lot of weight, but because I met two of the sweetest ladies. I still keep in touch with them to this day. We tell each other everything. One is from Arizona, she has had many health problems lately. When she is in the hospital and can not keep in touch, her husband writes to let me know how she is doing. I just got a letter by e-mail yesterday from her. I wish I could meet her in person someday. That would be wonderful.

My second friend actually lives closer to me in my state. We always write to each other. I did get to meet her, two years ago. We met and walked and talked, had lunch together and enjoyed each other's company so much. We feel connected. I have met her two daughters and they are very sweet. I sent picture to her of my family and she does the same for me. Her one daughter got married last Summer and I have beautiful pictures of her wedding day. We plan on meeting again someday, but my husband is too ill right now for me to do that. At least we do know each other and she means the world to me. We have put faces and voices to our on line friendship. It is so much more than on line. When her mother passed away, she was on line telling me about her mom and I did my best to try and comfort her. This wonderful friend has sent me many comforting words to help ease my pain over my husbands illness. She has put him on their pray list at her church and continues to keep him and I in her prayers. I do the same for her and her family.

I have been so fortunate to have met both of these ladies on line. Our husbands were a little concerned in the beginning, thinking someone was pretending to be someone they were not. I assured them both I was who I said I was and we exchanged pictures. As I said the friend from Arizona now has her husband keeping me up to date. It is just wonderful and they mean everything to me. We are here for each other and that support means so very much to me. Sometimes family and friends are too busy with their own life to stop by or call with a comforting word. I can get on line and there they are, with a sweet note or just saying "How are you today?" I will nourish these special friendship I have found on line and look forward to the day I can meet with my dear friend from Ohio again. I have hope for meeting my friend in Arizona, we never know what life holds in our future. I can hope for a day that I will meet this lady face to face also.

God works in mysterious ways. You never know when a good friend will pop up on line or otherwise. I always have my mind and heart open for a new friend. If they are willing, honest and want to be a friend, I am here. The talks we have are more than my words can describe. We are connected and we are true friends. We are here everyday for each other.

My life has been "Blessed" by my on line friends.
