You walked right by me
Our eyes locked
You could see right through me
By one glance
I faultered and asked
You answered
Invitation given and on we walked
We watched the sun rise
Talking on and on
Like we knew each other for years
It was time for me to leave
Our eyes locked until
The taxi took you out of my sight
My heart pulled for weeks
I took another flight
We spoke on the phone
You told me of the handful of quarters
Just to hear my voice
You would soon see my face again
I stood in the dark
Alone and beginning to worry
Where were you
I turned around
Across the street you ran
Straight to me and kissed me
I never felt so safe so warm
I never met someone so honest
As life would have it,
We were together and then
We were gone
Two continents dividing us now
You are there
I am here
You have my soul my friend
