Hybrid vehicles, a wonderful concept, and after how long finally coming to fruition. What did it take to catalyze this process, to get those cars from concept to production? Are they cool, absolutely by the simple definition.

To catalyze the necessary change, to realize the fact, that the standard gas guzzling, natural fuel burning behemoths that are on the road today have done their part to help with global warming. Something not thought about until society was made aware of what a difference driving a car makes environmentally. The realization after seeing movies such as The Day After Tomorrows, made people rethink things and noting that it could happen. Not to mention exorbitant prices of gasoline to keep the behemoth moving. With bush's war, or just supply and demand, the end result prices beyond the reach of the majority of people were a major part of the swing to change.

For a long time before this point, such alternative fueled vehicles were only thoughts, actively explored in Tech Universities though not really expected to reach production. That is until the realities of the times sunk in. Gas prices going sky high, the risk of doing more damage to the environment and the fact as time progresses people seem to want more gizmo's and things to work with. Often they will spend most of their times in the vehicle, whether it be going to work or out for a drive and there seems to be an inert fascination with gadgets. The majority of society started looking at a more green lifestyle, alternative modes of transport so as to have less money going out to pay for gas. There is no limits on gizmos in these new vehicles, often they come with a GPS unit integrated into the dashboard, offer a convenient design while not limiting functionality sorry to say even some can be upgraded to include DVD players for the kids. Not necessarily a bad thing, I meant more in the sense where I have seen for some odd reason, people actually placing a dvd player on the steering wheel and that just made no sense.

Hybrid cars go beyond gadgetry of course, they also give you far better gas mileage then the standard Honda compact, look cool, and amazingly charge themselves. It is not only a sharp looking vehicle, they have been redesigned now to charge while driving, making them smart cars besides. Not to the point where they drive themselves at least not yet. In conclusion hybrid cars are very cool, would like to see them one day take the place of the old behemoths, when they do it will be a cleaner environment that we live in. Besides, in time they can be setup to run completely on electricity saving fossil fuels and polluting less. We shall see what the future holds.
