Poetry: My mother's kitchen

If you want it,
You can find it-
In my mother's kitchen.

My mother's kitchen
Offers wide varieties
Of frozen food you can
Microwave in minutes.
Decadent entrees,
A delicious, complete meal.

My mother's kitchen offers
Many assortments
Of food in boxes.
What ever snack you crave-
Be it Nutter Butters, or a Pop-tart-

If you want it,
You can find it-
In my mother's kitchen.

My mother might not ever be
A magnificent cook.
She might never create
Delicious thanksgiving feasts.

Flavorful cakes?
Palatable sweet potatoes?
Savory meat?
Mouth-watering sweets?

You can't find those things
In my mother's kitchen!

Her cakes collapse.
Her sweet potatoes burn.
Her chicken turns to rubber.
Her sweet snacks taste salty.
However-

When she pops a TV dinner into
The microwave,
Or unwraps a muffin
From it's package,
You know you are in for a treat.

The packaged food always
Tastes scrumptious to me.

In mom's kitchen
You never go hungry.
The wide varieties of
Artificial tastes
Remind me of home.

If you want it,
You can find it-
In my mother's kitchen.
