The Children of God are now confused about the teachings of the Mother Catholic Church. Has the innocents of the Catholic people been taken away by having access to knowledge?
When you were a child and trusted what you were told by parents, you opened your minds and absorbed everything you were taught. You had complete faith that you were being told the truth. The truths were explained in such a way that you, a child, could understand and remember it. Those teachings came in the form of rhymes, songs, repetitions, sometimes scary stories, but all designed to teach you something. When you became old enough to read and had the means to acquire knowledge, you became confused about some teachings and questioned your parents. This is not any different than the situation with the confused Catholics followers. Perhaps they have matured.
The World Wide Web also opened the window to historical information and facts that exposes many secrets about the Catholic Church that had been otherwise kept quiet. It's not the Catholic Church itself that fascinates people; it's the ability to peek through that mysterious veil that shrouds the Church. Now, many Catholics have reached the point of 'knowledge confusion'; conflicting information and no one to clarify any questions. Perhaps no one knows how.
The new generation is asking why and questioning practices whereby in the past there had always been complete unquestioned following. Here are a few of the most burning questions:
Is it really prayer when you repeat the Our Father and the Hail Mary over and over? God understood the first time you said it.
Why is there prayer to dead people? Are they not buried, waiting for "Jesus to come again and judge the living and the dead."
Why are there so many statues in the Church? Why are people focusing on a graven image to inspire their faith? That's against one of the Ten Commandments.
Why can't the priest's marry if Jesus was referred to as 'Rabbi' in the Bible? A Rabbi was required to get marry in the days of Jesus and still is today.
Can anyone please explain the Trinity to me?
Why must we focus on a poor tortured Jesus, still bleeding and eternally being tormented on the crucifix instead of a strong shinning resurrected Jesus?
Why are we praying to Mary, is she a god too?
There are so many more questions to be asked. But, at the end of the day when hardship sets in and you're alone in the situation; sick, guilty, tired, ashamed, angry and forlorn, all those questions won't matter anymore. All those who have questioned their Church and their Catholic roots will scurry through their dresser drawer to find that rosary and whisper the mantra of the prayer that will lift you up on another level to commune with God and speak the words you're really thinking. That rugged crucifix will remind you that when you did those evil things, you hurt others and if you don't stop it , you're going to go to Hell. When you can't carry that guilt any more, you can get free confidential psychological counseling; go to confession and get it off your chest. You want to speak to a spirit through a medium wait for your penance after confession and the Priest will channel Christ and say "All your sins are forgiven, go into the world and sin no more. Let's start looking for wisdom to balance some of that knowledge; after all it was the tree of knowledge that got us all into this mess in the first place.
