Witty quotes by women

More men are attributed with fantastic, moving quotes. Words that make our blood rush, our heart pump; make us stand up and cheer, but what about the women out there who have accomplished this? Here are some of my favorite females who stirred the soul and opened the hearts and minds of many.

Quotes by Jane Austen:

I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them.

A large income is the best recipe for happiness I ever heard of (from Mansfield Park).

Where so many hours have been spent in convincing myself that I am right, is there not some reason to fear I may be wrong?

Quotes by Dorothy Parker

A little bad taste is like a nice dash of paprika.

I don't care what is written about me so long as it isn't true.

I've never been a millionaire but I just know I'd be darling at it.

That would be a good thing for them to cut on my tombstone: Wherever she went, including here, it was against her better judgment.

Quotes by Eleanor Roosevelt

A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.

Friendship with oneself is all-important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone
else in the world.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Quotes by Oprah Winfrey

I finally realized that being grateful to my body was key to giving more love to myself.

Though I am grateful for the blessings of wealth, it hasn't changed who I am. My feet are still on the ground. I'm just wearing better shoes.

Whatever you fear most has no power - it is your fear that has the power.

With every experience, you alone are painting your own canvas, thought by thought, choice by
choice.

Every time you state what you want or believe, you're the first to hear it. It's a message to both you and others about what you think is possible. Don't put a ceiling on yourself.
