you in your decision. I wanted to walk around during labor, and I wanted a natural childbirth. I didn't have a plan so when I got there they didn't allow it, but if I would have gone over a birth plan I could have signed a waiver that would allow me not to be under constant monitoring, and I could have been free to walk and do my Lamaze exercises.
7. Take the Lamaze classes. They are usually free at the hospital that you are registered at. It is very informative. I learned a lot because even though I wanted a natural childbirth I was prepared even for a C-section which I ended up having in the end.
8. Baby showers are such a blessing. It really helps to get as much as you can because you won't have to be paying for so much. Try to have at least two. One at work and one with your family and friends. If they ask you what you need don't be afraid to tell them. My co-workers all pitched in and got me a nice crib instead of a lot of clothes and things. It was great because my family and friends took care of the clothes and diapers at their baby shower for me. Register the things that you want at the department store that is easiest for your guests to get to and afford. You can even register in the comfort of your own home. I registered for my baby shower on-line. It was so easy. It is less pressure on you and your guests. They won't have to wonder what to get, and you won't have to return a lot of items.
9. Arrange for a family member or friend that you trust and won't cause you stress to help you a few days at home with the baby. It really helps to have someone there. Your life has just been dramatically altered so it will take time to adjust. You really don't have time to be cleaning or cooking so it is really great to have someone helping you out. My mom came for more than a week to help me. My husband and I both were sad to see her leave.
10. Relax and exercise. Your body will handle your delivery natural or C-section so much better when you are in shape. Taking small naps can really help also because sometimes it is hard to sleep at night especially in the last trimester. I loved my naps because I was only getting about 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night. It really helped me when I went to the hospital because I got no sleep for about 36 hours. It was worth it though after I saw my baby. What a great feeling. So enjoy it all.1.
