What is love?

Love has always been one of the greatest mysteries in the world. It is an unfathomable abyss of emotions that would always be undefined by the greatest books and greatest philosophers that ever walked the earth. Love remains a gift that only people who knows how to love could feel its real beauty and its true mystery.

True love is best defined in 1 Corinthians 13, and I quote, "Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud or rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in truth but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful and trusting. Love never fails."

WHAT LOVE IS NOT

Love is different from like. Love can never be an infatuation or a physical attraction. Love does not rest on what the naked eyes can see.
Love never happens by fate. It does not come on unexpected moments and it is never planned. Love is never a chance.

Love won't find you if you isolate yourself in the mountains of the Himalayas. Love won't find you if you remain as a virgin island that had never been discovered by the greatest sailors of human history. Love is not being alone and lonely and being contented of living life without considering of sharing it with others.

Love is not pity or simple raging of hormones. Love is not friendship. Love is not a lie just to benefit one's selfishness.

WHAT LOVE IS

Love is a feeling treated with kindness. It is a gift that we give and is freely given to us. Love is not how much we are loved but how much we loved.

Love is going beyond physical attraction. Love is appreciating what is beyond the physical characteristics of the person. It penetrates deep into his heart, mind, soul and personality.
Love is staying because an unexplainable feeling sprouts in your heart that neither pain nor walls could put the two of you apart. It is the feeling of contentment and satisfaction of every bit that life brings you.

Love knows the right time. It has its own reason for coming and going. It never rushes things just to satisfy the selfish needs of the moment. It considers what would benefit the future.
Love would always remain to be a form of freedom. It is getting away with the clasps of loneliness, sorrows and pain. It soars you up above the horizon that no laws made by man could ever stop you from loving.

Love is something that is shared. It grows further and it multiples when shared to others. Once you fall in love, treat the feeling gently. Be happy that love had been mutual. If you fall in love with a person who doesn't love you, be calm. Never put blame on yourself or on the other person. If a person you don't love loves you, feel honored and be gentle with his feelings. Never take things against him.

Love means submitting yourself selflessly to someone in sickness and in health, in happiness and sorrows and in life and death.
