My spirit is weak
These flimsy bones tremble
My famished temptations
Beseech compromise
What shall give me might
When the frailty in my marrow
Poisons the blood of my heart?
What shall conquer all -
That my sorrowed soul defies?
What shall bring Peace -
To the raging of my mind,
When my thoughts desecrate
This very temple?
Blood that is ever so divine
Pour upon these woeful cries
"Seek me and ye shall find"
But What if these eyes are blind?
"Those with ears let them hear"
But What if their blows have deafened mine ears?
How shall I seek without you in sight?
How shall I hear over their judgmental lies?
Your very own so they say
Yet God, I feel as if they pull me farther away
You say "Daughter"
They say "Heathen"
You say "Child"
They say "grieven"
You say "friend"
They say "foe"
You say "found"
They say "lost"
You say "saved"
They say "sinned"
You say "peace"
They say "war"
Their self-justified accusations
Define their selfrighteous persuasions
Too proud of their humble deeds
To remember their once feebled knees
Countless times their perfections flawlessly fail
Yet I stub my toe, and their words hit like hail.
I cannot condemn, out of my confusion
I cannot give in, although they push
I cannot drown, though the flood is high
I cannot be forgiven, til I forgive
I release them from their unknowings
I forgive for the cuts they know not of
I forgive for the bruises on my soul
I forgive for the faith they stole
I forgive for the martyr they make me
I forgive them for they know not of
They know not of the struggles I go through
They know not of the thorns each tear I shed holds
They know not of the shredding my dear heart consoles
Forgive me lord, for my faithless deeds
Forgive me for these in which I used to seek
These poor souls, much like me
- Lost without your dignity.
Bless my soul, oh my lord
Bless our soul, Oh sweet Jesus
We try so hard, to use your ways to please us,
Disciples with the lesser faith
Your mercy for which we beg.
Teach us the poor mans better way,
If to heaven it shall takes us.
Lord let us not go astray
For your love shall forever keep us.
We sing once again
our souls holy anthem
"Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound"
as your presence sweetly erases
all the past pains
all the past grievances
all the past...
well, ... all the past.
