What is it you see
As you glance over at me
Am I everything I wish to be
Lovely, wild, careless and free
Am I, to you, simply a child
Ignorant, playful or just plain wild
Or am I a woman, full of grace
Confident, steady, wise and chaste
Do you see me as I was
Long ago when we were us
Have I changed to much since then
Oh, the things we could have been
Do you see me as a mother
A friend or a lover
An enemy or your soul mate
Someone you could love or only hate
My wish is for you to finally see
All the things that are truly me
Please glance past this pretty face
And take my soul in a warm embrace

What could it be that makes you look at me.
Is it the years worn that now swarm
