She painted my departure with
her own tears:
we parted in proud August 1999:
...the place, where
she rehearsed, with high-fenced gushing tears
in sorrow, in pain
by the veranda of our morning solos.
United blitz, we stepped
backward
forward, unwilling
to separate our hands.
With rolling tears she wept
in proud August 1999.

Four walls, all I see.
I'm helplessly trapped;
I long to be free.
Sitting in a corner,
Knees pulled to
Swarming, off-shooting, multiplying: Thoughts lock me in.
That rattling, incessant voice; a destructive din.
