I will hold my hand up proudly and say, "As a single, child-less woman who is incredibly introverted and far too busy and neurotic to have a relationship, I LOVE PORN!" I love that it is free on the internet and I can double click my mouse to my heart's (and other organs) desires.

As a married woman with children, I would say, "Put that garbage away! The children are looking!"

Sex is beautiful and natural. Sex is an important basic instinct. It is a powerful tool and equally powerful weapon. It can create life or begin the degradation of one. Children should not be exposed to it too early. Children should not be exposed to it uncensored. They are not ready for the sort of power and responsibility that comes with sex (and things that may follow, ie pregnancy, STDs.)

When it comes to sex, I'm desensitized and jaded. I hate that fact and don't think that children should wind up that way. While using my then-boyfriend's computer to surf the internet one day, his browser history brought up rape sites! Rape sites! There are websites where you can watch young girls being raped! I was appalled, and soon after, single. I can't imagine if I had married this man and had children with him. I can't imagine what I'd do if my young son had stumbled on that and learned something from it. That's not the way children should learn. I'm quite sure those "rapings" are staged, but still, it's not ok. I'm a voyeur, I'm an exhibitionist, but I am not a pervert or a sadist. To me, watching a video of a rape is as bad as watching video of an actual murder; if you are not investigating a crime, what are you doing it for? It's disgusting and despicable.

When it comes to watching "regular porn" you know, the consensual kind where everyone is enjoying it ... I admit that I love the fact that I can access it at the click of a few buttons right now, and save myself the embarrassing trip to the seedy adult video stores. I like that kinky titles don't show up on my credit report. But I also realize the consequence of that is some young child may go out and imitate sex crimes he saw on the internet because he found himself oddly turned on by seeing a young naked girl be dominated. (Or any number of other, more likely consequences.)

Kids are far more sexually advanced then they were, say, 10 years ago (likely even less than 10.) I confidently say I believe the internet has a lot to do with that. Internet porn should most certainly be regulated. Children DO need protection. Children mimic what they see, it's how they learn to walk and talk and do all the other things humans do daily. They should not be exposed to what we don't want them to imitate. Because children are learning to use computers and the internet so young now, we do need to be responsible for it's content and the access to mature content.
