-PARIS by Yves Saint Laurent -

I just adore the perfumes of Yves Saint Laurent. There are so many I like from this one maker. All very distinctive too. His 'Y' is the most beautiful fragrance, as is Rive Gauche, Baby Doll and many others. Paris is one of my firm favourites, and one of the first I owned of his.

Paris comes in a salmon pink, gold, and black square box. Quite chunky, like the perfume. The bottle is dimpled, clear glass, quite squat and round, like a squashed ball. It has a black and pink chubby top to it. With Yves Saint Laurent written in gold lettering to the front of the bottle. There is nothing really feminine, or particularly attractive about the bottle, and the basic looking bottle belies the perfume inside. The bottle of Paris de toilette I have is a 75ml bottle, 2.5fl.oz. It has a black push down atomiser spray to the top.

Paris is an incredibly strong fragrance. An intense depth of scent, therefore you really don't need to use too much when applying it. It doesn't fade easily, and after wearing, I can still smell it on my skin the next day. I would say it is a romantic perfume, quite sexy really, there is just something about the notes that makes me keep smelling my wrist when I am wearing it, and breathing it in. It is quite gorgeous.

Paris by Yves Saint Laurent was created in 1983. The perfume contains a blend of hyacinth, mimosa, rose, violet, lily of the valley, bergamot, geranium, hawthorn cedar, sandal, heliotrope, and amber. The fragrance is beautiful, it is sweet, Yet musky, a very interesting mixture of notes. I can smell the violet and rose quite predominantly, then sandlewood, as a middle note lingering in the background along with the geranium. All these come through quite strongly.It is quite simply a divine fragrence, though it may be too sweet for some.

It really is a stunning fragrance. I would say mainly suited to daytime wear. My Husband just came over to smell it, and he said "Erghhh that's horrible! Charming! ;-) It's not actually, it's very lovely. One thing about this scent it is incredibly strong and will last and last on the skin. You don't need to go heavy on the amount you use. It's a very expensive smell, and a pretty expensive perfume.

To sum it up I would say it the fragrance of the Paris eau de toilette is a very sexy one, without being too heavy,with a strong blend of rose, violet, sandlewood and geranium. 9/10 from me.
