Child-free dating tips

If you're a childfree single looking to date and eventually get married, you know how tough it is. You will encounter many different personalities in your travels through life, and not all of them will take kindly to the concept of being childfree. Like any other potentially touchy subject, you must discipline yourself to broach this important subject with graceful sincerity.

Other concepts related to childfree dating are the potential for personal growth, the tribulations of a possible long-distance relationship, and perhaps expanding your dating pool within the childfree world. It's a lot think about, but worth it if you believe in your decision.

PERSONAL GROWTH

I've found that most people will grow only if they put forth a sincere effort to do so. It's a tough thing to do, especially for adults, but it can be done if the desire is strong enough. If you really want to change occupations, you'll learn a new trade or craft. If you truly need more time to focus on your favorite hobby, you'll make the time. If you seriously want to date other childfree singles, you'll find a way to meet them.

Certainly, if your situation does not allow you to meet anyone physically (locally), then online is the way to go, but you must be open-minded. Once you've made a connection with someone, it's really not that tough to figure out common interests - the only difference is that the conversation is typed instead of spoken.

So what if he or she lives in Seattle and you live in Miami? The words are the same; all you have to do is be tactful with your questions. If your hormones are burning with desire for the other person and you absolutely must have an answer to the childfree question right away, preface it with a few sincere words beforehand:

"I usually don't change subjects drastically, but I was wondering..."
"I need to ask you something important, if you don't mind."
"Before we go any further, can you give me you honest opinion on something?"

Whatever you do, just use your own words and be sincere.

If you feel that it's too soon in your online relationship to be talking about children, then don't. Bite your tongue if you have to. Look at it this way: Unless the subject comes up in conversation, you don't know how the other person will react, so don't risk it. However, it's been my experience that if you know he or she is also ultimately looking for marriage, you'll probably be okay.

Also, if the site you are using caters to the childfree, then
