10 HOBBIES THAT HELP ME RELAX ARE:

1. Writing is a hobby and love of my life and helps me relax and take my mind off pain I had for 6 months. I am always jotting down notes on scraps of paper. I've clipped articles out of magazines and newspapers for the past 40 years that I have filed for writing resources.

A friend told me about Helium.com and it was the best therapy for me as I am re-cooperating from total knee replacements.

I receive in the mail a circle letter from all my brothers and sisters. You see I got tired of writing the same thing to my 6 siblings so I started what I call a circle letter. We have an index card with all of our names, addresses, and phone numbers in the order we are to send to each other.

I start the letter and send to my older sister in Indiana. She reads my letter and writes a letter and sends to the next person on the list. We have an envelope to share pictures. So when the letter gets back to me I take my old letter out, read all the other letters and write a new letter and send it on its way.

2. My car is my hobby sanctuary to think, relax, nap, watch people, read a book, to write letters and poems, and visit the ocean. I love to get away from the house, TV, doorbell, telephone and go on short get-away-drives I call escapes. I sit in my car feeding the sea gulls at the beach, watch the crashing ocean waves, enjoy the fresh aromatic ocean breeze, watch the kids fly their kites, and smell the marshy sea salt smell filling the air.

3. A hobby of mine and others is prayer walking the city streets and as I pass a house and I feel something wrong going on inside I pray and ask God to intervene for the problem. When I feel peace I continue walking.

I sit and pray in the parks that God's love, peace, mercy, grace, and joy would touch all who enter the park. I sit and listen to street people and ask if I can pray for them as everyone has needs.

Sometimes we made cookies, sandwiches and bring sippy drinks with straws to give away. Other times at holidays we made homemade cards and gift bags with candy and treats.

4. Making and sewing tote bags out of drapery material scraps that my brother gave me. Tote bags are all sizes used to carry shoes for bowling, CD player and CD"S.

5. Photography is becoming more of a hobby as I can make greeting cards with a photo on one side and a poem on the other. I make a postcard with small picture on left and poem on right. I love taking pictures of nature, animals and people.

6. Swimming is
