White sandy beaches
Bright blue waters reaches
Over me while sitting on the shores
Crashing tides more and more
Strong arms embrace me tight
My protector showing off his might
A beautiful sunset so pleasing to the eyes
Mesmerizing...can't look away from the sky
Caressing feel of the warm breeze
This is paradise, don't make me leave

Nothing but beauty surrounds
Turning to face him in my view
His lips form the words "Will you"
Tick tock Tick tock
Is that the sound of a clock?
You are not part of my comforting silence
Fighting to hear beyond it
His lips are moving, yet I can't hear his words
Only the deafening ticking who is this with nerve
Then it happens
Sounds of insane laughing

Pulling me from my euphoria in shock
No more sandy beaches
No blue waters reaching
Just a cruel twist of fate
Why couldn't that alarm just wait?
Who invented this tortuous device?
Hearing those long awaited words would've completed my night
Instead all I hear is this incessant buzz
Replacing his words of endearment and love
Oh well at least the dream was nice
Now it's time for real life
As I've been ripped from my imagination box
Once again defeated by that darn
Alarm Clock
