Put one foot on, then the other
Watch the needle swinging higher
Though she knows it's pointing lower
Than it ever did before.
So she steps down, inside crying
Cause she knows she could be dying
Yet still she keeps on trying
Though she's down to one-oh-four.
And she knows she could be ill
But she's proud of her strong will
She doesn't feel the pangs of hunger
That she used to feel before.
As she turns to face the mirror
Knows the truth could not be clearer
As she mounts the faded bathroom scale
Upon the bathroom floor.

A red head
