Do the words Tamarindo, Costa Rica roll right off your tongue? If not, then just give this a read and try again later. Are you looking for a new vacation spot to brag about to your friends without hearing that they have been there and done that. Then I'll suggest to you that your next jaunt should be to the northern pacific coast of Costa Rica to locate Tamarindo. If you are a sucker for silly things like white sand, blue water and exquisite sunsets then this multi-cultural community may be for you. Don't worry about how you'll get there because it is the most accessible location in the area. There are plane charter services, two airports, bus services and car rental options available.

Tamarindo is well suited for romance and families so there are many choices when considering the type of accommodations you need. From luxury to budget and perhaps even a night on the beach. There are a variety of restaurants in case you are looking for the norm or if you are in the mood to experiment with community favorites.

There is year round warm weather so you know that the beach and the water is always inviting. Tamarindo has many water based activities so it is not possible to sit around and twiddle your thumbs. The area is actually touted for it's world class sports fishing. There are hotel and fishing packages available for the true fisherman. Surfing is another popular water activity that the masses flock to. It doesn't matter whether you are a novice or a pro. Everyone has the opportunity to hang ten. If those choices don't appeal to you then try scuba diving, jet skiing, snorkeling or maybe even sailing. Of course there's always just sunning on the beach.

If don't want to spend all of your time at the beach then here are some suggestions. Tamarindo has two championship courses that will keep golfing enthusiast happy. There are tours to the nesting area of the giant leather-back turtle for the Eco-friendly. This is said to be an amazing experience. Tours into the mangrove forest where you will spot species that you never knew existed. Taking a stroll through and sampling at an outdoor vegetable market. A little exploring can be done on bicycle, horseback and car rental. Let's not forget that Tamarindo has a nightlife for those of us who like to stay up a little later.

If you are entertaining the thought of Tamarindo for a vacation spot you keep in mind that the rainy season is from May through October but these are just showers. So plan accordingly and bring your umbrella and your bathing suit.
