Oh rocking chair and sunshine,
Where on my porch I sit,
No television here today,
No light do I have lit.
Oh how wonderful to be,
Behind the times today.
I face a path into the trees,
That only feet have met.
No cars today, I'll pass,
Some exercise I'll get.
Oh how peaceful to be,
Behind the times today.
The sunset comes so quiet,
The candles now burn strong.
The curtains blow in the wind,
There is no air conditioning on.
Oh my, planned out so awesome,
Being behind the times today.
To bed, I snuff the candles,
And click on the evening news.
Just to check the weather,
But oh, the peace I lose.
For it was relaxing in every way,
Being behind the times today.
