The biggest part to remove in your computer is the motherboard. If you've troubleshooted and ordered a new motherboard for your computer, then its time to learn how to install it.
Before doing any steps, please be aware that the computer should have NO power. Make sure you are following these steps in a proper way, and that you are not carrying an electric charge. This charge, known as Electrostatic Discharge, will cause components to not function properly.
First, Remove the computers side cover. The side cover can be removed by either pulling a latch in the correct direction, or unscrewing a couple of screws. Removing the side cover will give you access to all of the computers internal components, including the Hard Drive, Fans, Motherboard, CPU, and many more.
Second, Disconnect and Remove all components. The motherboard is the main component, in which everything relies on and connects to. You will need to remove all of the other components that are in the way of the motherboard, such as the Hard Drive, and Power Supply. You will also need to remove the components on the motherboard, like the RAM and CPU. Then, disconnect all cables from the motherboard.
Third, Remove the motherboard. You can remove the motherboard by unscrewing the screws on the motherboard. In rare cases, motherboards have just a latch to pull out and slide, or they will be held in by plastic latches instead of screws. If you have the plastic latches, just pinch in the in direction on the top of the latch, and pull up. If you have just the latch, pull out and slide. If you have any other locking mechanism, refer to the Motherboard manual or Owners Manual.
Fourth, Replace the motherboard. You can now replace the motherboard by the same method of removing it.
Fifth, Screw in or latch the motherboard into its original place by using the latches or screws that were originally in the first motherboard.
Sixth, Connect all cables that you removed earlier, in step two, that were removed to easily free the motherboard for removal.
Seventh, Put the components back into place and make sure they are properly seated and screwed in, if necessary.
Eighth, Screw in or latch the side cover the same way you removed it.
Ninth, Turn the computer on.
You have now successfully replaced the motherboard. Congratulations on your work.
