Think that your budget has stretched as far as it can and extra is not longer in your vocabulary? Closely examining your situation might just enable you to find a little more room there. Being precise and determining all current expenditures will help make finding that extra room easier.
The monthly bills are all paid, groceries have been bought but you don't have anything left. Now what bills do you have that you don't have to have? There's one there if you look hard enough. Do you have cable or satellite? Most people with these services have the largest package available to them. Do you actually watch all of those channels? Check into a smaller package or cut the cable off all together. If you don't have enough channels order a coupon and get a digital box; you won't have as many channels as you had but you won't have the monthly bill either.
By reducing or getting rid of the cable or satellite bill you just found anywhere from thirty to sixty dollars a month or more. Now what else do we have that we don't need?
Do you go out to eat a lot? Even if you only eat one meal out a day during your typical five day work week you can be spending anywhere from twenty-five to one hundred and fifty dollars a week depending on where you go to eat. Take lunch with you a few times a week and you can find up to ninety dollars a week for a total of three hundred and sixty dollars a week.
Now what else do we have that we could live without? Is the light bill too high? Reduce it some and you'll find money to put else where. If you would like to know the exact amount of your electric bill each month you can always go down to your utilities office and sign up for budget billing if it is available in your area. The light bill is averaged for the year and you pay a set amount each month. (Has the disadvantage of having the overage due once a year.)
Do you have to have all the name brands when you go to the store? Wait for the sales on clothing and shoes. When you go to the grocery store buy the generic and store brands to save a little bit.
Keep looking through what you payout each month and you will be amazed at the ways that you can find a little extra room in your budget.
