Reality of professional wrestling: It's not as fake as you think

Most people, who are not fans of professional wrestling, belief that wrestling is 100% fake. They are very uninformed or blind not to see that not all of wrestling is fake.

Professional wrestling fans know that most wrestling matches have pre-determined outcomes. Many of the moves are predetermined as well but it is up to the wrestlers and the referee to decide on which moves to use and when to use them. The referee tells the wrestlers when it is time to wrap it up and end the match the way it is intended to end. So, in this way, professional wrestling is fake.

Some of the wrestling moves are choreographed but not to the point of where every single step, move, hold, etc. are planned out and pre-determined. Even if the whole matches were totally choreographed, injuries could still occur.

You should think of professional wrestling matches as being theatrical plays or circus performances. Professional wrestlers are like actors and the actual performances are fake, as in not real, but the wrestlers have to physically perform their roles. Professional wrestling is a very physical performance, unlike that of theatrical plays, and very similar to circus performances.

Circus performances are all choreographed and practice until the performers have perfected their performances, timing, synchronicity with other performers, and many other ways. They do this, not only to create a great performance for spectators, but also for safety reasons. Everything must be timed just right or accidents can occur.

As an example, think about circus jugglers tossing torches back-and-forth. If the timing is wrong, one of the jugglers will get burned. Another example is the performance act where several performers on motorcycles ride around the inside of a metal ball cage. Each motorcyclist goes around the ball in a different path so as to avoid the other motorcyclists. If one motorcyclist's timing is off by a split second, it could result in the serious injury or death of some of the motorcyclists.

Professional wrestling combines a circus performance with a sports performance. Think of a wrestling match as being a theatrical wrestling match. The wrestling actors are performing real moves in such a way as to be believable to spectators but not to adversely affect or injured the other wrestlers.

Professional wrestlers have to make their wrestling matches and moves as realistic as possible. Sometimes this is difficult because wrestlers must try to not
