Hotel reviews: The Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada

Riviera

Located at the north end of the Vegas strip, the Riviera hotel/casino holds over 2,000 guest rooms. Built in 1955, this glitzy building has managed to retain its historic look while growing to become one of the top five casinos in the world. In recent years, Martin Scorcese shot on location at the Riviera for his movie Casino'.

The hotel is made up of four towers (The Monoco, the Monte Carlo, the Mediterranean and the San Remo) The Monaco is by far the largest of the quartet with 24 storeys and 942 rooms. The Mediterranean tower comes second with 502 rooms and sits directly above the Casino. Garden style suites along with standard and super rooms are available in the San Remo tower, while the 15 storey, 229 room Monte Carlo tower all feature window sitting areas. All the rooms include safes, data ports, pay per view movies and cable television.

The hotel also provides first rate entertainment with four live shows every evening. The most impressive is a show called Splash'. Widely considered to be one of the best acts in Vegas, Splash' boasts a vast array of fancy dressed dancing girls, motor cycle daredevils, jugglers and lots more. For the more active guest, golf, hiking, jet skiing, horseback riding and tennis are all available nearby
