(1) I hate that so many of us spend our lives searching for fulfillment from all the worldly objects that we hold so dear, and when it is too late finally realize that true riches are measured in so many other ways. The gentle touch of a lover, a child's laughter, friends who never forsake us, and a world full of wonders that we fail to appreciate.
(2) I hate that I choose to ignore the bothersome senior citizens who often try and talk to me or smile only to have me ignore them. I ignore them because I am too busy to have time for them. They are a nuisance and I don't have patience enough to give them just a few moments of my time that deep inside I realize would mean the world to them and ease the loneliness that often overwhelms our senior citizens. I hate that I don't have the foresight to realize that one day soon I might just be walking in their shoes.

(6) I hate the guilt I feel when I see one of those ads on television asking for sponsors for starving children in a country on the other side of the world. I hate the way I can change the channel so quickly and in mere seconds rationalize that I am only one person and can't change the world. Yet, we are all the family of man and if we truly believed that, and looked after each other, no child would ever be left to starve to death. I hate that I realize that, yet don't have the courage to take any action to stop it.
(7) I hate the way that we continue to carve away and destroy great chunks of the natural resources our generation
