Trader Joe's is a very pleasant store to shop in. The employees are friendly and always willing, ready and available to help, and the products are of high quality at an affordable price. The biggest appeals of Trader Joe's for me is their products and service. In my shopping experiences I've found both are top notch.
PRODUCTS
Trader Joe's focuses on specialty and quality products with reasonable prices. It's often I'll go in the store and find organic produce and dairy products for far less cost than in the chain grocery stores. The store also offers a vast variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free products, with natural ingredients; often hard to find items in today's general market.
Trader Joe's effectively fills this niche. The stores are always stocked and shelves are seldom empty; new products appear on the displays all the time. The employees on the floor and at the registers often ask if you've found everything you were looking for and I get the definite impression part of the managerial philosophy is to strive to maintain high quality by supplying the items customers are looking for.
SERVICE
When shopping in the store, it's clear that good customer service is also a part of organizational culture and philosophy. I've never received bad service or been brushed off by an employee being too busy to be of assistance. In fact, my experience has been employees will quickly drop what they are doing in order to answer questions or help find a product.
From a business perspective, I've always been very impressed with the structure of the store. It's obvious they pride themselves on solid customer service and treat their employees well. Each encounter I've had in Trader Joe's has been a delightful one and employees are always friendly and make small conversation as they ring up your items.
The employee dynamic in Trader Joe's is terrific and all hands jump in and help with checking out, stocking and assisting customers in helping them find what they need. If you're a Trader Joe shopper, it's not uncommon to hear the familiar ring of the bell with a shout of "man overboard"; this indicates the check-out line is getting long and without fail another employee or a manager immediately appears and opens up a check out line so customers do not have to wait long to pay for their items.
The store is definitely a customer-friendly one and both the managers and employees I've met always go out of their way to make the shopping experience pleasant. I give Trader Joe's two thumbs up!
