Poetry: Credit cards

by WryterB

In my wallet all I see
Is a bunch of credit cards, with high interest fees
Am I going to cancel it? Will I use it today?
Or will I just look at it and wonder how much must I pay

For each one I have, I like something different
The look, the feel, the value from it
The gold one makes me feel great
But that's the one with the highest interest rate
The platinum is fancy, and used all about

However that's the one that is maxed out

I'm getting around to paying them off
As soon as I finish designing my loft
Minimum payments, no worries its fine
Only on a few occasions, I've been behind
Fees have been waived, due to sadness in my voice
Once agents hear my pitty, they have no choice

The bills came this month to tell me what I owe
Can't belive how high my spending habit has grown
I have yet to stop using my cards and paying cash
I still can't belive they've maxed out this fast
To end my dilemma of using my plastic
I'm going to call my companies and do something drastic

I'm getting on the phone right now to change my life
Cutting off these credit cards, and making things right
This is the right choice, a start at financial freedom
These credit cards I have, I no longer need them
So goodbye magnetic strip on the back
Goodbye to calling for authorization, I'll miss that
The good times we've had I'll never forget it
But now I have to get a prepaid card to build back my credit
