Life & love: Is it better to use your head or your heart?

When it comes to a choice between using your head or your heart to decide whether or not to pursue a love interest, or in deciding what you should or should not do in your life, generally choose the advice given to you by your heart.

If you listen to all the little voices in your head then you might be prevented from ever venturing outward and into the greatest experiences that you might ever have. Your head is filled with little fears and superstitions, filled with things that other people have told you over the years, and things that you were taught as you matured into who you now are. Some of these things may be what is best for you but others just may not be. Sometimes what seems to be logical, is not, especially where love is concerned.

Often times it turns out that illogical is exactly where you want to be, where as your head might lie to you, your heart will not. Your heart will always be honest with you. It will tell you when it is happy and it will tell you when it is sad. Using the emotions that your heart gives you, you will know when to go into a relationship, and when it is time to leave one. Just make sure that you listen to what it is telling you.

Listen when your heart is elated and happy, but also listen when it is hurt or afraid, these are the emotions that it will use to guide you in your path through life. Life is the greatest adventure that you can ever experience, and love the greatest gift that can ever be given, or received. Your emotions are the fuel which makes living worthwhile and they are there to guide you.

Whether the emotion you experience is happiness, love, kindness, or sadness, these feelings are what make life worth the living. You shouldn't miss the opportunity to experience them to the fullest because you were busy listening to the ghosts in your mind telling you what someone else has said or experienced. You need to experience it to know if it is what is right for you. If your heart says that it just might be, then take the chance, and listen to your heart.

Run with your heart, let it lead you into territories that will cause you to laugh, to cry, to smile, sing and dance. Feel the intense pleasure of receiving love and of giving love. Risk the sadness of a broken heart because it is worth the feeling of an elated one. Enjoy the emotional roller coaster that is life.

Feel kindness and empathy for those around you who may not be as content in this life, and when things are not so good in your world, be comforted when these same emotions are offered by someone else to you. When your heart aches or is afraid, then you must follow the direction that it is advising for you, and move yourself away from the person who is causing your pain.

heart knows only too well what is best for you. You just have to listen to what the emotions in your heart are telling you to do. They are there to guide you in the right direction.
