Step by step: How to wax your legs

Waxing your legs can be done in a salon (which has its advantages) or at home where you can do it yourself or with a little help from someone else. It doesn't take much work, but it takes some and a few important steps. These steps will have your legs smooth and hair free in a short period of time. Whether you choose to do it on your own or have a little help from a spouse, significant other, or friend you can get through this quickly and efficiently.

The Wax.
You will want to start by melting the wax. Depending on the type you are using, this can be done in the microwave or it can be done by placing the jar in a container of hot water. You will want to make sure that the wax is thoroughly melted and easily manipulated.

Put the Wax on.
You will want to start by using the applicator to place the wax on the leg. Many people find it easier if you start at the bottom of the leg and work your way up. You will want to apply a strips worth of wax. Then secure the strip on the wax giving it a few extra strokes to make sure that you get it attached well. Most waxes will need a few seconds to stiffen up some. Others are ready immediately.

Pull the Strip.
Once the wax is ready, peal up a small corner of the strip. You will then rip the strip off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. In other wards, for your legs, you will rip it in an upwards direction. You need to be fast so as to take the hair with the strip and wax.

Again.
You will need to do this again and again until all of the hair is removed that you are desiring to be gone. This usually means that you will need to work around your leg and then upwards as far as you wish to go.

Moisturize.
Hair removal is often damaging to the skin. It is important that when you are done waxing that you moisturize your legs really well to leave the skin soft and rash free. Otherwise you could have skin problems that can be painful.

Waxing isn't incredibly hard, though it does take some time. It lasts a lot longer then shaving and should only need to be done once every four to six weeks. The first time waxing usually hurts, but over time you become used to it. There are a wide variety of options for you to choose from when choosing to wax.
