I believe that there is a definite "attraction" at first sight for many men in particular as relationships goes. Often for men in particular the physical attraction can be very mentally stimulating and governs their reactions when trying to start a relationship.
The chemical reaction of endorphins, adrenaline can often cause a hormonal response to gain that superior beauty for their own even for a night. Yeah I said it, this is about love at first sight and in many cases that can lead to only one night of passion and love for many in our society.
Let's face it we all have been near someone at one time or another in our lives whether in person, on Television, in Movies that we have just are unable to not stare at the physical attraction is so strong. And in this world of physical enhancements of teeth whitening, fake breasts, hair extensions, plastic surgery, Botox and the like many have forgotten that there is more than just physical appearance to be attracted to.
Many women are both looking for physical attraction and financial stability but, for the sake of this topic is it possible for a woman to base it solely on first physical attraction, yes. There must be something to the whole thing of love at first sight or there would not be "one-night stands" after all it takes two to tango and both partners must be willing right?
Can this "love at first sight" lead to a meaningful relationship? It is possible but, basing a relationship upon physical attraction alone will not be enough to sustain a relationship for the looks may fade and therefore the love based upon said looks will almost inevitably fade as well.
Men lose their hair, teeth, grow beer bellies whether they drink or not and as children, homes and life enter the picture these tend to increase the gain of the previously stated issues. Women will often become nesting den-mothers looking for the perfect status of love, health and an overall acceptance of their bodies in a more natural state.
Though with future generations becoming so fixated on physical appearance issues such as teeth whitening, hair implants, breast augmentation at sixteen who can tell if this will matter anymore about the physical/emotional changes associated with life and aging.
Will love at first sight lead to a meaningful relationship only time will tell and your ability to accept this person as they otherwise are in their lives. Many attractive people that you would fall in love with at first sight are just as flawed as the unattractive people and many just hide these issues better. Think actors for instance and maybe you can understand what I am talking about.
